Who are we?

We are Mark and Elizabeth Stoddard, owners of Bucket List Cruises and Tours, LLC. We began our travel business in 1991. Between raising a family of five (Liz), running various businesses, teaching writing & entrepreneurship at universities (Mark), this has been a part & full time occupation that has brought us friends and memories that have enriched our lives and the lives of our family. Our children all worked and traveled with us at one point in their lives -- a real blessing.

Gorbechev's former minister of Higher Education started us on this road with an invitation in 1990 to teach 150 Soviet business leaders principles of the Free Market and Entrepreneurship on a cruise ship on the Volga. That led us to establishing the first company to be invited to bring foreigners to the Soviet Union! Thousands traveled on our cruise ships with Russians during those early years of Russia's break with Communism. What a thrill that was.

Our traveling friends asked for more destinations and we happily obliged creating tours in China, Africa, South America, Israel, Eastern Europe and, well . . . all over the globe.

By the turn of the century, life pulled us in other directions, so we left traveling to others.

Recently we decided to return to Russia with Meridian hosts, Scot and Maurine Proctor and had a group of more than sixty ready to go when Putin did his number. A quick pivot took us to the pristine waters of Croatia's Dalmatian Islands. From there we have added a few "Bucket List" destinations each year.

We love traveling and love taking friends to places that would otherwise be more of a challenge to reach.

We escort all tours except the small group safaris. Our groups are 30 - 36 so you never see more than one bus and we always know your name.

Our groups get to be good friends. We start each day with prayer and a song whenever possible and although most everyone who travels with us are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that is not requisite. But traveling with like-minded people is a blessing we share.

We specialize in Bucket List destinations with just a small group. We do NOT do herd tours.
Rather than traveling in large groups where every step is choreographed, our tours provide a flexible plan where you can opt in and out, taking the time you want on your own. But giving you great value throughout!
Frankly, we only select a few destinations where a group of like minded travelers can make the travel experience richer.
